UNLOCK YOUR BEST WORK LIFE + MAKE A DIFFERENCE TO EVERY LIFE. We have an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nursing Associate to join our Primary Care Team at HMP Altcourse, a category B prison located in the Fazakerley area of Liverpool.

Salary: This position is full time, you will receive a salary of £30,660 per annum. Hours: 37.5 hours per week. You will work on a rota basis covering weekends on rotation, and nights as required to cover staff leave and sickness. Shifts include 7 days a week, including nights and weekends: 7am - 8pm; 8am - 9pm; 9am - 10pm; Nights 7.45pm - 7.15am.

Main duties of the job

As a Registered Nurse Associate, your responsibilities will vary. You will:

  • Provide outstanding care to patients, listening to and acting on their feedback so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them
  • Contribute to and implement care packages, assist with health promotion, wellbeing and clinics, and assist patients with activities of daily living and personal care
  • Deliver non-judgemental care involving health promotion clinics and observations, and support the nursing and pharmacy teams in primary care within healthcare centres and on wings and house blocks
  • Inspire excellence by forging strong links within our teams, partners and stakeholders and providing a service that people can trust, feel safe within and feel proud of
  • Promote best practice, evidence-based care and continuous quality improvement, embedding a culture of shared learning; promote patient wellbeing through our Wellbeing Approach, demonstrating empathy and understanding

Qualifications required:

  • Qualified Nurse Associate
  • Currently registered with the NMC
  • Training to level 3 in safeguarding of vulnerable people
  • Demonstrate current/recent preceptorship pathway since joining the NMC register
  • Evidence of post-registration CPD in areas relating to current practice

Although not essential, ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
