To join one of our 12-month placements, you must meet one of the following criteria:
- Currently be an undergraduate studying at university and applying for a placement year in your 2nd or final year
- Graduating from your undergraduate degree in Summer 2026
- Looking for employment after completing A-Levels or an equivalent course or an apprenticeship
In addition, you must be eligible to work in the UK without restriction for the duration of the internship from Monday 29th June 2026 to Friday 16th July 2027.
We strongly advise that you do not apply to more than one internship role to ensure that you are considered for the role you are most interested in and that your skills are aligned to.
What will I be doing?The Universal Pictures (UPI) EMEA Publicity team is responsible for the strategic release of all studio, Blumhouse, Illumination, DreamWorks, Focus, and Working Title films releasing in EMEA. This includes working with global publicity teams on press days, content days, film festivals, press tours, and premieres.
As the EMEA Publicity intern, you will:- Support the EMEA publicity coordinator and leads
- Assist with logistics for junkets and press events (booking travel, cars, couriers, press hotels, visas)
- Set up press and talent screenings, manage reactions and embargo forms
- Coordinate sending screening links where necessary
- Collate, format, and distribute reviews for EMEA markets
- Manage EMEA finances, raise purchase orders, and set up new vendors
- Submit expense claims for corporate cards for yourself and the Head of EMEA Publicity
- Research projects and contribute to brainstorms
- Schedule meetings, book conference rooms, set up AV, prepare agendas, and take minutes
- Maintain internal tracking documents (e.g., calendars, review docs, memos)
- Order equipment for the department
- Assist with uploading and distributing publicity assets to territories
- Help produce publicity PowerPoints and presentations
- Understanding of the theatrical market and film industry, and the role of publicity campaigns
- How to run a strategic EMEA theatrical publicity campaign from start to finish
- How the publicity team collaborates within the wider marketing team
- Knowledge of different campaign areas: title launches, set visits, junkets, content days, festivals, tours, trailer launches, influencer events, and premieres
- Identifying key differences across EMEA territories' media landscapes and campaign needs

- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
