Our client, a global scientific publisher, is seeking a new Regional Sales Manager based in France or the UK. You will manage academic and government institutional customers, responsible for identifying, developing, and expanding the customer base across the region.

The position focuses on expanding the organisation's market presence through a broad portfolio of scholarly and professional information solutions, including journals, eBooks, reference content, and open access publishing offerings. Building strong, trusted relationships is central to the role, particularly in supporting institutions as they navigate a rapidly evolving scholarly communications and open access landscape.

The Regional Sales Manager will also represent the organisation at industry events, conferences, and sponsored programs within the region, strengthening customer engagement and overall market visibility. The role reports into regional sales leadership within the EMEA organisation.

You will be comfortable engaging with and influencing senior-level decision makers and will demonstrate the ability to think strategically and operate independently when required. Fluency in French (written and spoken) is essential.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong record of sales success, a solid understanding of the scholarly or scientific publishing ecosystem, and an appreciation for the value and impact of high-quality research content.

Skills & Experience:

  • 5+ years' experience in publishing, information, or database sales, with a focus on STEM-oriented universities and government institutions.

  • Demonstrated experience selling beyond the library, including direct engagement with faculty, researchers, corporate, or government stakeholders, and committee-based decision processes.

  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, both virtual and in person.

  • Strong judgement, decision-making, and stakeholder management capabilities.

  • Highly organised, with strong CRM and data-driven sales skills to identify opportunities and support customer needs.

  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.

  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively across regions and functions to achieve shared goals.
