Job Description

Lead AllChild's work across the North East, helping local partners act earlier and work together, driving improved outcomes, so more children and young people can flourish.

Who we are

Children and young people can face connected challenges at home, at school and in their communities but support is often fragmented and comes too late. Starting with the child, AllChild brings families, schools, councils and community organisations together to provide support earlier, before difficulties reach crisis point.

For ten years, AllChild has worked with children and families in economically disadvantaged communities. Its Link Workers, based in schools build trusted relationships and join the dots, connecting children with trusted adults, local services and opportunities, from wellbeing support and sport to tutoring and speech and language therapy. AllChild is now sharing what it has learnt as it grows its work in communities across the country.

About the role

As Regional Director, you will lead AllChild's work across the North East, developing the partnerships needed to improve outcomes for children and families. You will work with councils, schools, health partners, community organisations, businesses and funders to build shared plans and strengthen the support available in local communities.

You will lead a regional workforce of up to 80 colleagues across several communities and council areas. Through your management team, you will support safe, consistent and high-quality delivery, while helping local learning shape the development of AllChild's approach.

As a member of the Leadership Team, you will contribute to AllChild's wider strategy and help build the relationships, investment and local foundations for lasting work across the region.

What we are looking for

You will bring significant leadership experience in education, health, social care or a related sector, with a record of improving outcomes for children and young people. You will be comfortable leading through managers, supporting teams through growth and building trusted relationships with a wide range of partners.

You will understand the North East's social and educational context and bring sound judgement on safeguarding, budgets, evidence and performance. You will lead collaboratively, listen to children, families and communities, and share AllChild's commitment to inclusive, strengths-based support.

If you are interested in bringing local partners together to improve children's lives across the North East, we would welcome your interest.
