Recycling Outreach Officer - Rumney, Cardiff

Acorn by Synergie is launching a new recycling engagement project across Cardiff and is recruiting Recycling Outreach Officers to join a proactive, community focused team. The role is based in Rumney, offers a salary of £25,000 - £28,000 per annum (DOE), is full time (Monday to Friday, 8am - 4pm) and requires a full, clean UK driving licence.

Key Responsibilities

• Visit communal bin areas to assess waste and recycling facilities.
• Install clear, accessible signage to guide residents.
• Engage residents through door to door conversations and community outreach events.
• Educate the public on recycling best practices and answer any queries.
• Support scheduling, collections and site improvements.
• Complete administrative tasks and maintain accurate digital records using tablets or mobile devices.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, confident when engaging with the public.
• Friendly, proactive and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Basic IT skills and confidence using mobile technology.
• Highly organised, reliable, and motivated to deliver positive outcomes.
• Full, clean UK driving licence is essential.
