Rector of Chirbury Hills Benefice and Rural Chaplain

An exciting opportunity for a priest who has a good understanding of rural communities and a heart for pastoral ministry.
This post combines the role of Rector of the Chirbury Hills Benefice with additional responsibilities as a Rural Chaplain with the ecumenical Borderlands Rural Chaplaincy, primarily across South Shropshire.
Responsibilities- be a visible presence in the community
- encourage young families to become involved
- lead us faithfully and prayerfully to build both vision and strategy for growth
- bring a sense of humour to the challenges
- encourage others to use their talents for the church and the community
- offer pastoral support to farmers, including young farmers, farming families, agricultural communities and ancillary services
- have a passionate heart and a commitment to the land based community
- be part of the Ecumenical chaplaincy team
- be deployable outside of the Benefice boundaries when engaged in chaplaincy work - primarily across South Shropshire
The ability to travel independently and efficiently on country roads is essential. A full, clean, driving licence and access to own car is desirable.
All appointments are subject to satisfactory pre appointment checks, including Enhanced DBS with Barred Lists clearance.
