Job Description

Cuffley & Goffs Oak Medical Practice are seeking an experienced and motivated Reception Supervisorto join our friendly and well-established team on a part time basis for 33.5 hours per week. This is a key role supporting the smooth day to day running of reception services across our two practice sites, ensuring patients receive a professional, efficient, and welcoming service at all times.

Working hours will be:

  • Monday: 08 00
  • Tuesday: 08 30
  • Thursday: 08 30
  • Friday: 08 30
Main duties of the job
  • Holding responsibility for the day to day supervision of reception and associated functions across two sites.
  • Supervising the reception team and reception function.
  • Dealing with day to day queries from reception, unexpected staff shortages and resolving day to day queries while also providing support to reception staff.
  • Promoting a harmonious and professional atmosphere and acting as a role model to the reception team - supporting, motivating and promoting staff relations.
  • Training of new reception team members in line with practice policies and procedures, ensuring ongoing reviews are conducted.
  • Planning and implementing the staff rota, arranging staff holiday and sickness cover.
  • General reception duties, including making appointments, dealing with patient queries and managing complaints.
Qualifications

Essential

  • Previous supervision/management experience is essential.
  • Experience of working within a GP reception environment is desirable.
  • Conflict/negotiation experience.
  • Excellent communication skills written and oral.
  • Able to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Problem solving and interpersonal skills.
  • Time management skills and able to work to a deadline.
  • Knowledge of confidentiality.
  • Good IT skills.
