Receptionist (Reception and Cattery Socialising)

Reception duties:
- Friday or Sunday 1pm - 2pm (weekly commitment).
- Cat socialising is optional and flexible; Saturday day available for cattery socialising only.
Job Summary: You will be the first point of contact for members of the public, RSPCA staff and volunteers. Your role involves welcoming visitors, handling phone enquiries, providing information, maintaining the reception area, processing sales and donations, and supporting our cattery department with cat socialisation.
What you will be doing- Assisting with enquiries via telephone and face to face.
- Answering the telephone politely and confidently, passing calls to the appropriate staff when needed.
- Taking messages from callers and visitors, ensuring accurate and detailed information.
- Carrying out administrative tasks including paperwork, filing, photocopying and faxing.
- Inputting information onto the computer system and responding to emails as directed.
- Promoting the work of the centre in a positive manner.
- Attending relevant training courses as required.
- Ensuring all visitors are greeted and their enquiries dealt with efficiently.
- Maintaining a clean, tidy, and safe reception area, including occasional clean up of accidents from visitors.
- Processing shop sales and receiving donations such as food or bedding.
- Friendly, cheerful and calm under pressure.
- Well organised with strong communication skills.
- Comfortable using a phone and speaking to people from all parts of the community.
