Job Description

We are looking for a reliable part time receptionist to join our friendly practice team. You need to flexible and be able to work as part of the team. The hours are 20 hours per week over 5 days. Monday, Wednesday, Friday 2pm-6pm, Tuesday 10am-2pm, Thursday 8am-12pm.

Cover until6:30pm and 8:30pm on a rota basis as and when required.

Main duties of the job

Answer calls

Care navigate patients to the most appropriate service

Process prescriptions

Managing tasks

Arranging ambulance transport

Liaise with other medical professions

Booking appointments

Job responsibilities

Making appointments

Giving out results

Ambulance transport bookings

Home visit requests

Deal with general enquiries and complaints

Contacting other providers

Register new patients and temporary residents

Greet and direct patients and visitors

Making appointments

Issuing prescriptions

Ensure outstanding queries are explained and handed over to next shift, as necessary

Respond to needs of doctors and nurses during surgeries

Deal with general enquiries and complaints

Pulling Lloyd George envelopes when requested by doctors

Dealing with queries relating to prescriptions

Input and extract information from Practice computer system

Observe health and safety guidelines at all times

General housekeeping (e.g. keeping reception and waiting areas tidy)

Any other reasonable duties as necessary

Qualifications
  • Good standard of general education
  • GCSE Mathematics C or above
  • GCSE English C or above
Experience
  • Experience of working with the general public
  • Experience of reception work
  • Experience of working within General Practice
