This is a key hire as they bring their call handling function in-house, making this an important role as the first point of contact for clients and third parties. The RoleThis is primarily a phone-based role, focused on managing a high volume of inbound calls and ensuring each one is handled efficiently, professionally, and with confidence. As a receptionist, you will play a vital role in representing the firm, ensuring all calls are handled with professionalism and care. While there is some front-of-house responsibility (meeting and greeting visitors to the firm's floor), this forms a small part of the role, with the majority centred around call handling.
Key responsibilities- Handling a high volume of inbound calls (often tens per day / hundreds per month)
- Acting as the first point of contact for clients, solicitors, and third parties
- Taking accurate initial details and logging information using internal systems and forms
- Confidently explaining the next steps and managing expectations
- Directing and allocating calls to the appropriate internal teams
- Liaising with internal colleagues to ensure smooth communication flow
- Supporting a professional and welcoming front-of-house presence when required
- Has an excellent telephone manner and communicates clearly and professionally
- Is confident, organised, and able to handle calls with authority and efficiency
- Is comfortable managing a high volume of calls in a busy environment
- Has good IT skills and is confident using systems, forms, and automation tools
- Presents professionally and represents the firm well at all times
- Is interested in building a long-term career in this type of role
- A receptionist or front-of-house role (legal or professional services preferred)
- A legal secretary background
- A customer service or call-handling role (including retail or contact centres)

What's on Offer- Salary circa £30,000 per annum
- Full-time, office-based role (Monday-Friday, 9:00am-5:30pm, 1 hour lunch)
