Reception Teacher Leeds

We are seeking a nurturing and enthusiastic Reception Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in the LS10 area of Leeds from September 2026. This full-time role is offered on a supply basis, with a competitive daily rate of £160-£200, depending on experience. The successful candidate will take responsibility for a Reception class, delivering engaging early years provision and supporting pupils at a key stage in their learning and development.

The school is a friendly and inclusive primary setting with a strong focus on early years education, pupil wellbeing, and creating a positive start to school life. Staff work collaboratively to provide a calm, engaging, and supportive environment where children feel safe, confident, and motivated to explore and learn. The leadership team is approachable and places high importance on high quality EYFS practice, ensuring staff are well supported and encouraged to bring creativity into the classroom.

• Plan and deliver engaging, play based learning in line with the EYFS framework.
• Support pupils' development in communication, social skills, and early literacy and numeracy.
• Create a nurturing, structured classroom environment that supports behaviour and independence.
• Work closely with EYFS staff, support staff, and parents to ensure consistency and progress.

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with EYFS or Reception teaching experience.
• Strong understanding of the EYFS framework and child development.
• A nurturing, patient, and creative teaching approach.
• Confident classroom and behaviour management skills.
