Job Description

Thisis an exciting and brand-new role within our City centre surgery. You will workwith an established multi-skilled reception team, administrative team,clinicians and Practice Manager to continue with the high quality, personallist centred care. You will be responsible for the patient facing elementofthe practice.

Main duties of the job

TheReception Manager is responsible for the day-to-day leadership, performance,development and operational management of the reception/Admin team. The postholder will ensure the delivery of a professional, efficient, safe andpatient-centred reception service across practice, supporting the practice inmeeting operational, contractual and patient care objectives.The Reception Manager will provide visible leadership to the reception team,ensuring high standards of customer service, effective appointment management,staff development, and compliance with practice policies and NHS requirements.The role will also support the practice's commitment to improving access,reducing health inequalities and ensuring services are accessible to allpatients. The postholder will also be the first line forcomplaints management and contribute actively to patient engagement through ourPatient Participation Group (PPG).

The role is 37.5 hours a week with some 0800starts and some 1830 finishes

Person Specification Experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Understanding of NHS primary care operations and patient access processes.
  • Knowledge of appointment systems and demand management.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to analyse data and undertake audits.
  • Competent IT skills including Microsoft Office
  • Ability to prioritise workload and work effectively under pressure.
  • Clinical systems such as SystmOne.
  • Experience of service improvement projects.
  • Knowledge of employment policies and HR processes.
  • Experience of rota management and workforce planning.
  • Understanding of health inequalities, reasonable adjustments and accessible communication requirements.
Qualifications
  • Good standard of education (GCSE English and Maths or equivalent).
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.
  • Previous experience of supervising or managing staff.
  • Experience of performance management, appraisals and staff development.
  • Experience managing customer facing services.
  • Experience of recruitment, induction and workforce management
  • Significant experience in a GP Practice reception or healthcare administration environment.
  • Experience managing patient-facing services.

£28,000 to £31,000 a yeardepending on experience
