Overview

Are you a Health & Safety Advisor with experience of working for a tier 1 or 2 contractor on rail projects? Do you have a strong understanding of Network Rail standards including L153 and RM3 principles?

Location: Kent (covering Southern Region sites) Salary: £55,000 + Company Van & Fuel Card

A rail contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to support the safe delivery of rail works across the Southern Region.

This is a field-based role supporting operational teams across site, providing practical H&S guidance and ensuring compliance across live rail environments. The successful candidate must be capable of working independently and have a strong understanding of how Network Rail operates.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out site inspections and audits across live rail projects.
  • Support operational teams with health & safety compliance and best practice.
  • Promote a positive safety culture and drive behavioural improvement.
  • Provide practical advice and challenge where required.
  • Support investigations and close out actions.
  • Build strong relationships with internal teams and client representatives.
  • Maintain compliance with Network Rail standards and procedures.
Essential Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years' Health & Safety experience within Network Rail infrastructure.
  • NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate.
  • Strong knowledge of Network Rail standards including L153 and RM3 principles.
  • Previous contractor experience (Tier 1, Tier 2 or specialist contractor background considered).
  • Full UK driving licence.
Desirable Requirements
  • IOSH membership.
