Job Description

Are you looking for a role that is challenging , varied, working with a wide range of people ? The Senior Administrator is a newly created based within Radiology and could be for you.

We are looking for a Senior Administrator to join our expanding Administration team to cover all administration functions/areas within the department and have a proven administration experience within a Radiology department . A good understanding of the functions within reception and booking teams is essential. The role offers some day to day operational management, under the supervision of the Patient Access Co-ordinators and will be key to supporting key initiatives within the department.

Main duties of the job

On a daily basis you will required to ensure your area is resourced to meet service demands and support any gaps.

With the support of the Patient Access Co-ordinators you will monitor and manage Diagnostic waiting lists for your area.

Play a lead role in implementing key initiatives within the administration team.

Manage and support Band 2 Admin & Clerical staff in your area.

Person Specification Qualifications
  • Educated to GCSE O level standard or equivalent in English Language and Maths. Grade C or above , OR relevant experience in a similar NHS role.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Business & Administration or equivalent experience/knowledge
Knowledge
  • Understanding of DM01 targets
  • Understanding of national cancer targets
  • Understanding of Risk Management, Data Protection and Information Governance.
  • Experience of using RIS, OASIS, and IEP in an NHS environment.
Experience
  • Experience of leadership and building a team.
  • Experience of working with key stakeholders to achieve set outcomes.
  • Experience of accurate data entry on a PC.
  • Proven HR management capability shown, including leading a team.
  • Experience in the recruitment & selection processes of staff.
Communication
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels, in different forms of communication.
  • Diplomacy and ability to deal with difficult situations
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Experience of coaching and mentoring new users of systems.
  • Able to deal effectively with challenging or sensitive staff issues, e.g. performance, within Trust processes and legislative frameworks
Skills
  • Able to utilise data to support decision making
  • Able to support service delivery to patients including management of waiting lists.
  • Able to work in a high pressured environment & work to deadlines
