We are looking for an experienced R&D engineer with a background in instrumentation and relevant hands-on experience building and/or verifying measuring instruments. You will join the systems team to participate in the functional verification (testing) of a newly developed innovative PCR setup.
You can take ownership of one or more modules in the setup, such as mechanical structure, hardware controls, optics, heater, control software, or others. Your experience and scientific mindset will help you identify the tests to run. You will work closely with teams such as the assay development team or the product development team. When needed, you will modify the instruments or control software.
The assignment- Verification of an innovative PCR setup: setting up protocols, running tests, overseeing verification.
- Make changes to the devices (in cooperation with development partners) and software if required.
- Help design and build test setups and prototypes.
- Manage your work and report on progress.
- Experience with hardware development and/or verification, such as electrical or embedded systems.
- Experience with instrument software development, such as Python or LabVIEW.
- A hands-on, can-do mentality and the ability to work closely in a team.
- Experience with lab devices or instrument building is a plus.
- Experience in an R&D setting, working with prototype instruments, is a plus.
