The role

Responsible for procurement of construction materials and plant for regional sites, ensuring quality, timeliness, and value for money.

  • Send out enquiries based on drawings and monitor procurement schedules to meet deadlines.
  • Follow up on quotes to ensure timely responses.
  • Place orders and coordinate with technical teams for approvals.
  • Prepare budgets for materials related to specific sites or phases, including sub-contract elements like windows, doors, curtain walling, and steelwork.
  • Compare quotes and review tenders for large orders.
  • Draft sub-contract documents for approval and issue of call-off contracts or project-specific instructions.
  • Generate monthly cost reports for review with the Commercial Director.
  • Extract material quantities for enquiries and ordering.
  • Resolve invoice queries related to procurement.
  • Attend site meetings within your purchasing responsibility for project updates and problem-solving.
  • Ensure closure of issues and actions from meetings.
  • Meet with suppliers on-site or in the office to address supply or product issues.
  • Develop value engineering reviews for materials.
  • Collaborate with the Technical Department to ensure specifications and approvals are met.
Experience required Technical Competencies:
  • Experience in construction supply chain or property development preferred.
  • Proactive problem solver with initiative.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings is desirable.
  • Highly proficient in IT, especially Microsoft Excel.

Standard working hours are 8am-5pm, with core hours from 9am-4pm.
