This position would suit a candidate with circa 3 years' working experience with a developer or contractor looking for career progression.

My client is a London based residential property developer. Since the Company was established in 2013, they have acquired numerous development opportunities and converted many flats with a GDV of around £125m.

They have ambitions to grow significantly over the coming few years, and their portfolio is broadening in scope, geography and size of properties under acquisition - so this is a really exciting time to be joining them.

Key duties and responsibilities:
  • Preparing scope of works and budget costs from high level design information and updating as design is developed
  • Commercial and technical input to construction strategy and design development
  • Work package procurement - preparation of tender documents, identifying suitable contractors, analysing tenders, placing orders, managing payments and changes
  • Proactive cost management and cost reporting towards achieving certainty of final build costs
  • Preparation of cost and related information for external funding agents and to secure agreement to construction costs
  • Undertaking joint site inspections with funding agents for drawdowns
  • Scheduling out materials from drawings for purchasing/ordering
Essential qualifications:
  • 3 years' work experience with a developer or contractor
  • Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team to contribute towards delivering quality products cost effectively
  • Commercially aware
  • Proactive and "can do" attitude, with a readiness to learn, take responsibility and use own initiative
  • Problem solving ability and creative mindset
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and positive team ethos
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written
