Job Description

The Quality/Calibration Engineer will provide leadership and be responsible for day-to-day management and implementation of Calibrated Equipment and it's System in line with key Aerospace requirements, fundamentally focusing around EN_9100 and traceability to National & International Standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain calibrated equipment across the business, managing both internal and external calibration requirements.
  • Maintain QMS requirements in line with ongoing standard expectations (AS9100 and customer flow-down requirements).
  • Prepare and organise internal audits, including NCR closure.
  • Support customer requirements for annual audit activities.
  • Adhere to company health and safety requirements and complete all required training.
  • Process supplier and customer returns for non-conforming items.
  • Promote performance improvement activities and quality assurance programs throughout the company.
  • Identify and implement corrective and preventative actions.
  • Carry out problem-solving activities within production.
  • Identify and investigate trends from internal failure modes.
  • Ensure QA activities and priorities are met to achieve on-time delivery (internally and externally).
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with team members to maintain a professional and consistent working environment.
  • Work flexibly, including potential travel between sites or customer locations, depending on business needs.
  • Communicate directly with customer quality representatives when investigating complaints.
  • Support and adapt to changes in standards, policies, processes, and products.
Skills and Qualifications/Experience
  • Calibration experience (practical knowledge and understanding).
  • Strong understanding of EN 9100 requirements (minimum 3 years' experience).
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
