Job Description
Job Description The Quality Technician works as part of the Quality Control team within the Operations department, reporting to the Quality Manager. The individual will be responsible for assisting with the disposition of DC MRB items in a timely manner and assisting in ensuring timely execution of product holds, purges, deviations, and inspection flag activities. This individual will also support the ISO program and assist in Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) in our Distribution Center.
Essential Functions- Assist in the execution and response of purges, inspection flags, interruptions, CCARs, deviations, material review board (MRB) and customer surveys items in a timely manner.
- Assist with the implementation of quality Alerts in the DC.
- Respond to routine quality issues with defined procedures in the Distribution Center that affect the on-time shipment and customer satisfaction, implementing the necessary corrective actions.
- Liaise with Inventory to ensure material control of the MRB area.
- Support the ISO program at the Distribution Center, including internal auditing.
- May assist with third party Audits.
- Contribute to maintaining quality metrics.
- Ensure that all applicable processes and procedures are followed.
- Participate in daily Gemba.
- Provide input in continuous improvement activities.
- Ability to work with colleagues across various functions is essential.
- Experience with PLM systems (such as SAP).
- Experience and proficiency with SAP and SAP PLM desired.
- Strong communicator (both written and verbal) with ability to explain information to stakeholders including peers and customers.
- Troubleshoots data issues with established procedures.
- Exposure to quality tools and techniques such as root cause and corrective actions.
- High school diploma, entry level vocational or technical background desirable but not required.
- Typically requires a minimum of 1 to 2+ years of related experience.
- Proficient in PC quality data entry, MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.
