Job Description

Vickerstock are delighted to be working in partnership with growing and innovative food manufacturing business based in County Offaly to appoint a Quality Officer to join their Technical team.

The Quality Officer will be responsible for helping maintain the quality control processes and systems within the company. The role will involve reviewing records and ensuring that all records are accurately updated.

What your day to day will look like:
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of quality control activities, test results, and non-conformance reports.
  • Responsible for updating reports: KPIs and micro
  • Help investigate customer complaints or product/service failures to determine root causes and help implement preventive measures.
  • Monitor and analyse quality control data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for process improvement.
  • Help to train and educate employees on quality control procedures, standards, and best practices.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry regulations and standards related to product or service quality and ensure compliance.
  • Participate in quality audits and inspections conducted by external agencies or regulatory bodies.
  • Ensure that food safety is adhered to at all times.
  • Carry out daily operational checks as per Safe Food when required.
  • Checking production records for completeness and validity.
  • Other duties as required.
What you will need to succeed:
  • Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Quality Management, Microbiology, or a related field.
  • Experience in a food manufacturing or food processing environment in Ireland.
  • Strong knowledge of HACCP, BRCGS, GMP, and Irish/EU food safety regulations.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Good communication and report writing abilities.
