Job Description

Job Title: Security Quality Officer

Reporting to: Senior Quality Manager (Security and Protective Services)

Salary: £24,920

JOB PURPOSE
  • To ensure compliance with the requirements of the SIA and other regulatory bodies for BIIAB Security and Protective Services Qualifications Limited (BIIAB).
  • To support the Senior Manager Security and Protective Services in delivering, monitoring, evaluating and improving quality assurance as it relates to business and regulatory compliance.
  • To support the Senior Manager Security and Protective Services with Centre recognition and associated qualification approval processes and procedures.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • To support with compliance processes and procedures including self assessment and validation.
  • To monitor and respond to emails in the Security inboxes, assigning to other team members as appropriate, within agreed timeframes.
  • To make entries to the C&R tracker including A8.7 as directed and provide summary information as required.
  • To undertake rebranding for all internal documents as requested following branding guidelines.
  • To process centre approval applications following the process for Security and Protective Services centres from start to completion with final sign off from the Senior Manager Security and Protective Services.
  • To process qualification approvals accurately up to and including level 2.
  • To ensure the effective and efficient control of information and data in line with GDPR requirements.
  • To support in the Quality Assurance process; scheduling standardisation meetings, EQA visits, reviewing and monitoring action plans and checking invoices are ready for authorisation.
  • To process site and venue approvals in line with current SOP for the security sector and with support, where needed, from the senior officer.
  • To support the Senior Manager (Security and Protective Services) with the first stage of investigations and evidence gathering for Centre enquiries, appeals, complaints, malpractice and maladministration cases in relation to Security and Protective Services.
  • To support on the completion of the desk top elements of internal audits.
  • To process centre related Conflicts of Interest for Security and Protective Services.
  • To carry out duties and responsibilities in line with the appropriate policies.
  • To maintain accurate and up to date records and provide data, as required.
  • To ensure appropriate security and confidentiality.
  • To make recommendations for improvements to systems, processes and procedures within scope.
  • Assisting in producing written guidance for centres/internal staff on a range of different topics such as Go React, exams and comms.

The above duties are not exclusive or exhaustive and the post holder may be required to carry out such other appropriate duties as may be determined by the Senior Quality Manager (Security and Protective Services) and Head of Quality and Regulation.

  • To contribute to the operational activity of the organisation where this relates to the overall benefit of Skills and Education Group. Such activity and its scope will be jointly agreed in advance.

PERSON SPECIFICATION QUALIFICATIONS
  • Good standard of education evidenced by GCSEs or equivalent -E
  • Level 3 in Customer Service/Business Administration -D
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
  • Accurate data management skills including entry, validation and reporting -E
  • Knowledge of working in an education/training environment -D
  • Knowledge of quality assurance processes and reporting systems -D
  • An understanding of the requirements of regulatory bodies such as Ofqual -D
