Job Description
Overview

Quality Manager will lead the ongoing development and implementation of the Quality Management System across our factories and installation sites, driving the highest levels of quality, repeatability, and continual improvement. This role relies on operational engagement to improve compliance whilst at the same time supporting our factories and live project teams. The most critical aspect of this role is consistency of approach, maintenanceofhigh standardsand delivery of outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Promotehigh levelsof awareness and compliance with the VB Quality Management processes
  • Lead on the development and maintenance of the QMS in line with ISO9001, BOPAS, EN1090 and NSAI Agreement Certs.
  • Coordinate and drive the integration of common processes and activities, considering non-Quality Standards such as ISO14001, ISO20400 and ISO 45001.
  • Include digital adoption of QA/QC processes across the business.
  • Review SOPs to ensure compliance and link with IPT and ITRs.
  • Review and sign off quality management documentation: Plans, mock ups, ITR, ITP.
  • Lead on internal technical and management system audits, including factory and site audits
  • Review and audit the 'Quality in Design (QID)' and 'New Product Introduction (NPI)' process.
  • Set QA complianceobjectivesand ensuring that targets are achieved
  • Reporting of internal quality performance
  • Monitor and report on compliance with national and international standards and legislation.
  • Support and provide oversight to document and record management
  • Identifyand where necessary provide quality-related training
  • Review and confirm tests and procedures are properly understood, carriedoutand evaluated and that product modifications are investigated if necessary
  • Coach and support technical staff in carrying out tests and checks, including Quality Assurance Technicians/ Site Managers.
  • Assess suppliers' and own company's product specifications and customer requirements
  • liaising with customers' auditors and ensuring the execution of corrective action and compliance with customers' specifications.
  • Assisttender and prequalification teams whererequired.
  • Maintain awareness of the business context and company profitability, including budgetary control issues.
  • Support the VB Head of HSSQ in continual improvement of the management systems, including integration with other standards e.g. 14001, 45001
Experience Technical
  • At least 5 years' experience in the implementation and development of QMS, preferably in manufacturing assembly or construction assembly.
  • Demonstrated experience of quality management from cradle to grave of a product/service.
  • Robust knowledge of aspects of Quality Standards and Specifications
  • Robust knowledge of workmanship standards,buildabilityand detailing

Qualifications Technical Qualifications
  • Level 8 degree in Engineering, Construction, Manufacturing, Quality Management, or related discipline
  • Strong understanding of governance processes
  • Qualified Lead Auditor for ISO 9001
  • Experience of Root Cause Analysis
Managerial Qualifications
  • Ability to support/manage (Quality Coaches)
  • Ability to coach/leadexcellence in our teams
  • Ability to self-manage programme deliverables
IT Qualifications
  • Strong IT skills in MS Office tools and Quality systems e.g.Fieldview, Viewpoint,DaluxSharePoint or similar
