Job Title: Quality Inspector / Level 2 NDT Technician (Night Shift)
Location: Leicester
Salary: £22.20 per hour (inclusive of shift allowance)
Shift: Night Shift - Monday to Thursday, 18:00 - 06:00

Quality Inspector / Level 2 NDT Technician - Night ShiftA well-established precision engineering manufacturer is seeking a Quality Inspector / Level 2 NDT Technician to join its quality team on a permanent night shift. This position plays a critical role in ensuring that manufactured components meet strict quality and compliance standards within a highly regulated production environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for inspection activities, non-destructive testing, and supporting quality assurance processes to maintain the highest product standards across production.
Key Responsibilities Inspection- Conduct First Article Inspection (FAI), receipt inspection, and in-process inspection using both CMM and manual measurement techniques
- Run CMM programs, analyse results, and make appropriate quality decisions
- Maintain and manage CMM programme integrity and documentation
- Support internal non-conformance processes, including raising rejects and ensuring appropriate containment
- Work closely with the Engineering team during New Product Introduction (NPI)
- Complete FAIR packs using both CMM and manual inspection methods
- Carry out inspection and calibration activities as required to support production
- Perform MPI, DPI and visual inspections in line with approved procedures
- Ensure NDT equipment is maintained and suitable for operation
- Conduct required control checks and tests
- Interpret and evaluate results against defined acceptance standards
- Prepare and authorise product test reports
- Generate work instructions for Level 3 approval
- Manage inspection workflow to support production priorities
- Maintain Level 2 certification in the relevant NDT method
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a quality inspection role within aerospace or automotive manufacturing
- Level 2 NDT certification in Penetrant Inspection (DPI)
- Experience operating CMM equipment and manual inspection tools
- Strong understanding of FAIR documentation and quality standards
- Experience working with SOPs and controlled documentation
- Ability to work to production timelines in a manufacturing environment
