Quality Engineer

Limavady

£45,000 - £50,000

Full-Time Permanent 40 Hours per Week

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quality Engineer to join a growing and well-established manufacturing business within the power and infrastructure sector, based in Limavady. This is a key role within a busy production environment, offering the chance to take ownership of quality systems, drive continuous improvement, and influence standards across a high-performing manufacturing facility.

The Role

Reporting to the Head of Production, the Quality Engineer will lead and drive the quality agenda across manufacturing operations, ensuring products meet internal standards, customer expectations, and regulatory requirements. Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop, implement and maintain robust quality systems and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications across production
  • Track and report KPIs including scrap, rework, FPY and customer complaints
  • Lead root cause investigations and implement effective CAPA actions
  • Work closely with Production, Engineering and Maintenance teams to resolve quality issues
  • Support supplier quality activities, including audits and incoming inspections
  • Conduct internal audits and support external ISO audits
  • Utilise quality tools including SPC, FMEA, Control Plans, PPAP and 8D
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement across the facility
The Person

We are seeking an experienced quality professional who can combine strong technical knowledge with practical manufacturing insight. Minimum qualifications and experience include:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a quality engineering role within manufacturing
  • Strong knowledge of ISO standards and audit processes
  • Proficient in root cause analysis tools (8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, Pareto)
  • Experience with FMEA and quality planning tools
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret production data
  • Experience working with suppliers and supporting customer audits
  • Confident communicator with strong organisational skills
  • Detail-oriented with a continuous improvement mindset
