GENERAL SUMMARY

Quality Engineer shall manage, and coordinate Quality Assurance activities to support project execution in accordance with the company's quality management system, across product lines manufactured, assembled, and serviced within the Glasgow (Cathcart) facility. Working in accordance with company policies and procedures to meet external regulations to deliver standards such as ISO 9001 and ASMECertificates of Authorisation.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead quality reviews of contract specific requirements at tender and order execution phase.
  • Communicate effectively quality requirements and expectations to functional areas through formal communication with internal and external stakeholders (e.g., review meetings, Order Review Documents and Quality Plans).
  • Coordinate with internal departments to define and resolve product quality problems and provide advice, guidance and support on all quality matters.
  • Lead negotiation of quality standards with customers and promote the external image of the company through effective quality management.
  • Coordinate with external customers and vendors to ensure clear understanding of quality requirements.
  • Support quality initiatives to foster a culture of quality, knowledge, understanding and continuous improvement.
  • Issue technical documentation for customers to verify product reliability, safety, and guarantees.
  • Develop and update quality procedures and standards as practices change.
  • Ensure compliance with group, company, industry, national and international standards and guidance to exercise best practices in quality.
  • Conduct audits in line with ISO 9001:2015, NQA-1 and other industry standards; complete supporting documents.
  • Lead product or process related incident investigations and ensure lessons are captured and implemented.
  • Develop efficient processes and controls related to quality performance.
  • Own project NCRs through to closure prior to goods shipment.
  • Apply RCFA techniques to identify and eliminate repeat errors.
  • Support EHS requirements as applicable through project execution and facility needs.

  • Travel and additional duties may be required adhoc; flexibility is required.
MANAGING PEOPLE
  • Lead and manage people effectively, delegating responsibilities to encourage development.
  • Motivate groups and individuals to excel in their roles.
  • Provide development opportunities through on-the-job and formal training.
  • Develop measures to ensure objectives are met, monitor performance, and provide constructive feedback.
  • Recognize and resolve conflict to minimise disruption.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • University or college degree in Engineering or Quality Management, or significant relevant industry experience.
  • Experience with ISO 9001, API, DEF-STAN, NQA-1, ASME Codes and Standards, RCC-M, ASNT-TC-1A, EN ISO 9712.
  • Technical competence for review of ISO/ASTM standards and customer specifications.
  • Process risk management and RCFA experience.
  • Proficiency with WORD, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in training program development and delivery.
  • Extensive internal and external auditing experience.
  • Basic knowledge of HSEQ company standards; continual improvement experience in engineering/manufacturing.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, influencing and interpersonal skills; strong commercial acumen; professional conduct.
  • Willingness to travel and hold a full UK driving licence.

You must have valid right to work in the UK and be able to obtain Security Clearance to apply for this role.
