Scanstrut has a rare opening for a highly skilled and motivated Quality Engineer to support and further build upon our commitment to excellence in Quality Management. This role represents a unique opportunity to influence the growth and success of this award-winning company.

As a Quality Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining and improving our quality assurance processes. You will work closely with design, production and supply chain to ensure that every product meets our rigorous standards.

Reporting to the Quality Manager, the role is full-time and based at our modern, purpose-built offices on the edge of Topsham, just opposite Dart's Farm. We're perfectly located: just 20 minutes from the sea and the same from Dartmoor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Internal Auditing to confirm compliance and drive continuous improvement.
  • Work with all areas of the business to identify and implement improvements.
  • Lead global regulatory compliance efforts for our products, actively identifying and addressing upcoming regulatory changes.
  • Manage customer RMA and Supplier non-conformance investigations.
  • Perform hands-on product testing as required. To include design of experiment and acceptance test procedure for product verification from development to production
  • Participate in product risk assessments, such as FMEA, to proactively mitigate potential risks.
  • Take ownership of the Workshop and Test Facilities, managing testing schedules and driving 5S

Key Skills:

  • ISO9001 Quality Management Systems
  • Level 4 (HNC) or above in Mechanical Engineering or other related discipline.
  • Strong logical thinking, analytical abilities, and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities effectively
  • Internal Auditing.
  • Experience of 5s/6s, RCCA, and problem-solving.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings.
  • Strong project management skills, working on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • 5+ years' experience working in industry.
  • Experience with PPAP would be beneficial
  • Experience in managing global product compliance, including CE, UKCA, RoHS, REACH, Prop 65 and other relevant standards is beneficial.
