Job Description

As a Quality Control Inspector at GE Vernova, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the integrity and excellence of our products and processes. The position calls for meticulous inspection, adherence to stringent quality standards, and collaboration with production teams to uphold GE Vernova's commitment to delivering reliable and high-performance energy solutions.

In this role you will apply your expertise to inspect components, assemblies, and finished products, contributing directly to the safety, reliability, and efficiency of our innovative energy technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform thorough visual and dimensional inspections of incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products according to specifications, blueprints, and quality standards.
  • Document inspection results, identify non-conformances, and initiate corrective actions in collaboration with engineering and production teams.
  • Operate and maintain various inspection tools and equipment, ensuring their calibration and proper functioning.
  • Participate in root cause analysis of quality issues and contribute to the development of preventive measures.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by providing feedback on quality processes and suggesting enhancements.
  • Ensure parts, materials and processes comply with all relevant industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal quality management systems.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to resolve quality discrepancies and improve product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
Essential Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent qualifications / experience, preferably with a technical focus (e.g., Mechanical or Electrical).
  • Sole British citizenship with an ability to obtain national security vetting clearance to SC level.
  • Proven experience in a quality control or inspection role, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
  • Proficiency in using various measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges).
  • Appreciation for SC (Security Check) Clearance; applicants must be UK Nationals and possess or be eligible to obtain SC clearance.
  • Availability to work fully on site at our business site in Rugby, Warwickshire, UK.
  • Exclusion of travel requirements.
  • Strong understanding of first principle measurements and geometrical tolerances.
  • Experience using Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) such as FARO, Mitutoyo or similar.
  • Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to inspection tasks.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for documenting findings and collaborating with teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast paced environment.
Nice to have Qualifications
  • Technical certification in quality control, inspection, or a related field.
  • Experience with ISO 9001 quality management systems.
  • Familiarity with non destructive testing (NDT) methods.
  • Basic understanding of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with quality management software.
Additional Requirements
  • This role involves work for customers who manage critical infrastructure; based on customer requirements it is necessary to carry out background checks and suitability assessments (UK BPSS clearance OR UK SC clearance) as part of the hiring process.
