Role

Quality Assurance Manager - Manchester (Permanent). A national contractor working in refurbishments across the North West and Midlands. They specialise in fit out, roofing, cladding, rainscreen cladding, curtain walling and internal refurbishments, delivering upgrades on the external fabric of buildings.

My client is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Quality Assurance Manager to lead the QA team and uphold the highest standards of product and service quality across the organisation. This is a key leadership role responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining robust quality systems and processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and oversee the implementation of quality assurance policies and procedures
  • Lead internal audits and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to identify and resolve quality issues
  • Monitor performance metrics and drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Manage and mentor QA staff, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability
  • Liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies as required
  • Report on quality performance to senior management
Qualifications & Experience Essential
  • Proven experience in a Quality Assurance or Quality Control leadership role
  • Strong understanding of quality management systems, for example ISO 9001, ISO 14001
  • Excellent knowledge of regulatory compliance and industry standards
  • Demonstrated ability to lead audits and implement corrective actions
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in using quality management software and tools
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Quality Management, Construction, or a related field
  • Safety certifications related to working at height
Desirable
  • Drone licence
  • Management Safety Training Scheme, SMSTS
  • NVQ Level 6 Senior Site Inspection
  • First Aid certification

  • Proactive, hands on approach to managing quality processes and resolving issues
  • Thrive under pressure and adapt to changing project or operational requirements
  • Build strong working relationships across departments, with clients, and subcontractors
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to continuous improvement
  • Hold a full UK driving licence and be willing to travel between sites as needed
