Quality and Safety Engineer

A long-established engineering and OT systems integrator is looking for a Quality and Safety Engineer to strengthen its central services team. This organisation delivers critical projects across energy, water, renewables and complex manufacturing environments, so the work is varied, regulated, and impactful.
This role sits under the Quality and Safety Manager and gives you broad responsibility across quality assurance, health and safety, and the wider QESH remit. You'll influence processes, support audits, shape policy, and work with teams across the business. Some travel will be needed for sites and suppliers, but the base is Stone.
Key Responsibilities
Support and maintain compliance across the management system, ensuring alignment with standards, regulations and client expectations.
Lead and support internal and external audits, including customer and third-party assessments.
Deliver quality assurance across projects; review documentation; support design and assembly processes.
Own core safety activity including risk assessments, investigations, systems of work and policy creation.
Contribute to continuous improvement planning, business strategies and QESH team development.
Liaise daily with internal teams, clients and suppliers to drive quality and safety outcomes.
Key Requirements
Minimum five years' experience in a similar quality or safety-focused role.
NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent safety qualification.
Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 45001.
Experience in regulated industries such as nuclear, energy, utilities or similar.
Degree-level education preferred, with membership of a relevant professional body (CQA, IOSH, IEMA).
Solid communication skills, able to influence at all levels.
Able to prioritise, manage competing demands and operate under pressure.
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
Awareness of automation systems, security requirements, ISO 27001 and functional safety is an advantage.
