Job overview

We have three fixed term vacancies for Quality Assurance Officers in the Quality Assurance team supporting the implementation of the national Families First Programme across Cambridgeshire County Council Children's services. The post is for a fixed term until March 2028, or secondment.

Main duties
  • Provide quality assurance, evaluation and oversight of new models of practice, including Family Help, Family Group Decision Making and Multi Agency Child Protection Teams.
  • Gather and analyse evidence, evaluate pilot programmes and support the development of new service structures.
  • Help ensure that emerging systems and processes are effective, child focused and deliver lasting improvements.
  • Directly influence how services are designed and delivered, contributing to meaningful and sustainable change for children and families across Cambridgeshire.
Responsibilities

As part of the Quality Assurance Service, you will work at the heart of a significant programme of reform. You will support the implementation of the national Families First Programme, gather evidence, evaluate pilots, and help shape the future of children's services.

Qualifications & experience
  • Social Worker registered with Social Work England, or a degree (or equivalent) in a related field plus extensive experience working in children's social care.
  • Professionally curious with a desire to understand why something has happened, its impact and how to improve outcomes.
