The Quality & Food Safety Specialist will establish and continually improve the site's food safety management systems, enabling the reliable delivery of safe products that meet all external legislative requirements and internal standards. This role is the Q&FS representative for quality, growth, and efficiency projects, providing in-depth, technical Q&FS expertise in the vision and realization of site projects.

SalarySalary: £49,000 - £57,000 (depending on the knowledge & experience), annual bonus, benefits
What are we looking for?- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Microbiology / Food Technology / Quality Management or other relevant technical discipline
- Food Safety-related working experience (minimum 4 years) in the food industry
- Project management & organising skills
- Knowledge of HACCP, FSSC 22000, and quality & food safety management systems
- Good understanding of food microbiology & allergen management
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Sound risk management skills and experience in auditing
Food Safety standards owner at the site level:
- Participates in Food Safety standard development with regional and global Q&FS teams
- Calibrates understanding of Food Safety standards and best practices with the Regional food safety community
- Ensures the deployment of the new Food Safety standard to the factory environment
- Ensures timely T4, T5 preparation and implementation
- Develops and deploys site-specific food safety standards, processes, and risk assessments
- Provides necessary communication to stakeholders and reporting on Q&FS standards implementation and compliance
- Supports CAB calculation and further projects implementation within the T5 rollout deadlines
- Scopes and coordinates a project team to enable the effective implementation of all necessary changes in the food safety management system in the factory
- Engages local stakeholders around the upcoming changes (Operations, IE, Engineering/Maintenance, HSE, etc.)
- Owner of the standard verification regularly and revisions if deviations are identified
Custodian of Food Safety on-site, in projects, and in daily activities in the factory:
- Provides expert input in risk analysis dedicated to the activities /changes implemented on-site
- Provides expert input in Food Safety-related incidents, supports the PRIMP team, and leads the creation of relevant preventive actions
- Provides risk-based decision-making on site-wide food safety non-conformances and deviations
- Sets and defines all processes, procedures, and activities for ensuring food safety
- Sets and defines validation for procedures aiming to guarantee a food safety product (OPRP, CCP, micro verification, including cleaning and allergen/CO procedures)
- Site representative in regional Food Safety-related communities of practice
- Internal auditor of the Q&FS management system on-site
