Purchasing Administrator
Location: Southam (Office-Based)
Salary: £26,000 - £29,000
Hours: Full-Time, Monday to Friday
Pertemps is proud to be recruiting on behalf of a well-established and successful manufacturing business based in Southam. Due to continued growth, our client is looking to appoint a highly organised and detail-focused Purchasing Administrator to support their purchasing and operational teams.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced administrator looking to develop their career within a busy purchasing environment.
Working closely with the Purchasing Manager, the successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring materials, stock and supplier information are accurately managed to support business operations and customer delivery requirements.
Key Responsibilities
• Raising purchase orders for stock and non-stock items.
• Liaising with suppliers to obtain quotations, compare pricing and ensure best value is achieved.
• Maintaining accurate supplier and pricing information within the company system.
• Reviewing supplier order acknowledgements and resolving any discrepancies.
• Monitoring purchase orders to ensure deliveries arrive in line with business requirements.
• Setting up and maintaining supplier accounts and records.
• Processing stock amendments, adjustments and updates.
• Creating and maintaining product, tooling and stock records.
• Updating Bills of Materials (BOMs) and internal work instructions as required.
• Managing supplier returns and monitoring progress through to resolution.
• Liaising with internal departments regarding stock, returns and delivery updates.
• Providing general administrative support across the purchasing and operations functions.
• Answering incoming calls professionally and directing enquiries appropriately.
• Supporting colleagues across the wider office team when required.
About You
The ideal candidate will be an organised and proactive individual with excellent attention to detail and strong administrative skills.
Applicants should possess:
• Previous administrative experience within an office environment.
• Strong data entry and systems administration skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
• Confidence working with Microsoft Office packages, including Excel.
• Experience using Sage, ERP systems or stock management software would be advantageous.
• The ability to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities effectively.
• A methodical and accurate approach to work.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to use initiative.
• A team-focused attitude and willingness to support colleagues when required.
Previous experience within purchasing, procurement, manufacturing, engineering or supply chain environments would be highly desirable but is not essential.
