Manpower is currently looking for an Apprentice Purchase Ledger Clerk to work with a well established company renowned in the electrical testing and measurement industry. The position is based at Dover (Kent). This is a temporary role for 18 months.
Core purposeMegger operates through three legal entities and supports multiple profit centres through Dover. Megger Instruments Limited (MIL) is the manufacturing company in Dover; Megger Limited is a UK and International sales company and Megger Group Limited is the global head office. The transactions for all three companies, as well as the full finance support for the trading companies, are combined in one Finance team.
Role summaryThis role will support all three companies as well as the full finance support for the trading companies as part of the finance team - Accounts payable. Accounts payable are responsible for the full accounts payable ledger function for the three sites at Dover.
Main Responsibilities- Ensure vendor invoices are correctly coded and authorised.
- Prepare payment runs and maintain supplier accounts.
- Post vendor payments to the system and allocate on accounts.
- Assist with checking and processing credit card returns, cash expenses and overseas banking.
- Provide banking support including cash allocations.
- Reconcile supplier statements.
- Resolve supplier queries in a timely manner.
- Reconcile Goods In, Goods Receipt account.
- Accurate and timely processing of supplier invoices and payments.
- Purchase ledger invoice entry.
- Supplier statement reconciliation.
- Checking and processing credit card returns, cash expenses and overseas banking.
- Provide banking support including cash allocations.
- Assist in preparing payment runs.
- Other ad hoc duties as required.
- Reconciliation of accounts payable ledger.
- Input speed and accuracy.
- Attention to detail - minimise errors.
- Stakeholder relationship management.
- Intermediate Excel skills.
- SAP experience would be beneficial.
- Experience in a high volume processing environment would be beneficial.
- AAT level 2 or willingness to study AAT preferable.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Great communication skills, written and conversational.
- Self motivated and versatile.
- Enthusiastic and a team player.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
