Job Description
Pupil Mentor (Emotional and Social Support)

32.5 hrs per week - 8.30am to 4pm Term time plus 5 days

Grade 5 £20,037 - £20,268 (actual salary, pay award pending)

Permanent - to start as soon as possible

About Woodhouse Academy

Woodhouse Academy is a successful Middle School of over 400 pupils, set in a semi-rural location on the outskirts of Biddulph, Staffordshire. The school runs a secondary style timetable and subjects are taught by specialist teachers throughout - from Year 5 to Year 8.

Pupils enjoy coming to school, are enthusiastic about learning and are challenged to achieve their best.

Responsibilities
  • Support pupils, develop their basic skills, overcome barriers to learning, and assist Academy leaders by promoting attendance strategies and implementing the behaviour policy.
  • Run the pupil support centre, liaising with staff regarding pupils that need support with skills, achieving learning outcomes, and adopting positive behaviour for learning by offering one to one or small group interventions.
  • Offer mental health and wellbeing provision by providing a support service to pupils experiencing a wide range of emotional difficulties.
