Public Health Nursing (PHN) have an exciting opportunity in the South Devon PHN team for the position of Team Leader.

Main duties of the jobThe post holder will lead and linemanage practitioners within the public health nursing teams in South Devon, while working collaboratively with North team leaders to support coordinated delivery across both localities. They will ensure the delivery of an effective and appropriate service that identifies need within a family, school or community and addresses health inequalities. This includes first line safeguarding advice and supervision. In addition, the post holder will support the development and implementation of service development, standard setting, clinical audit and benchmarking, to deliver needs-led evidence-based care that supports the local and national priorities.

Person Specification Qualifications- SCPHN (HV or School Nurse) qualification at degree level.
- Registered Nurse or Midwife.
- Masters degree or equivalent experience gained by undertaking on- going personal development and training.
- Understanding and experience of child protection.
- Experience of managing and supervising individuals.
- Clear understanding of the needs of Children/Young People and their families.
- Knowledge of national and local strategies pertaining to Children and Young people and the public health agenda.
- Evidence of continuing professional development.
- Child protection supervisor.
