The Role
  • Provide assessment, case management and individual therapies, including specialised interventions for service consumers and their families or carers.
  • Deliver evidence based assessment and treatment interventions for individuals with major and complex mental health problems, and develop and implement specialised treatment programs.
  • Act as an active member of a multidisciplinary team, offering support and consultation to other team members as needed.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Minimum of two years post graduate employment in a clinical area directly applicable to community mental health.
  • Demonstrated clinical knowledge and understanding of mental health in a community setting, including appropriate assessment of mental health problems.
  • Demonstrated expertise in a range of therapeutic interventions relevant to community mental health, with willingness to acquire further expertise.
  • Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Psychology Board of Australia.
  • Registered with the Psychology Board of Australia.
  • Where required, area of practice endorsement (e.g., Clinical Psychology, Clinical Neuropsychology, Counselling Psychology, Community Psychology, Educational and Developmental Psychology, Forensic Psychology, Health Psychology, Organisational Psychology, Sport and Exercise Psychology).

  • Area of practice endorsement in acute treatment.
