Psychiatric Nurse- Male Residential Service

Location: Near Strokestown, Co. Roscommon
Setting: Residential Mental Health / Support Services
Position: Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN)

Shift Options:

• Day shifts: 9:30 AM - 4:00 PM
• Sleepover shifts: Available, subject to service requirements

Pay Rate: Starting from €30 per hour, plus applicable premiums for qualifying shifts.

About the Role

Access Healthcare is recruiting a compassionate and dedicated Registered Psychiatric Nurse to support male service users in a residential care setting near Strokestown, Co. Roscommon.

This role is suited to a nurse who is committed to promoting mental health, emotional wellbeing, independence and recovery through high-quality, person-centred care.

The successful candidate will support service users in maintaining their daily routines, developing life skills and achieving individual goals while ensuring a safe, respectful and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred psychiatric nursing care tailored to individual needs.
• Support male service users with their mental health and emotional wellbeing.
• Monitor changes in presentation and escalated clinical concerns appropriately.
• Administer medication safely in accordance with prescriptions and clinical guidelines.
• Promote independence, dignity, choice and recovery-focused practice.
• Support daily living activities and individual care plans where required.
• Build professional and therapeutic relationships with service users.
• Maintain accurate nursing records and documentation.
• Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals and support staff.
• Follow safeguarding, risk management, infection prevention and health and safety procedures.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries at all times.

Requirements

• Current NMBI registration in the Psychiatric Nurse division.
• Experience in mental health, psychiatric nursing or residential services is desirable.
• Strong communication, assessment and interpersonal skills.
• A calm, compassionate and professional approach.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Eligibility to work in Ireland.
• Flexibility to cover day and/or sleepover shifts, depending on availability and service needs.
