The OpportunityThis role is ideal for a seasoned litigator with a passion for property law and a drive to contribute to strategic growth. You'll work closely with a diverse client base-including commercial enterprises, public sector bodies, rural estates, and private clients-delivering high-value, complex litigation services.
Key Responsibilities- Lead on a wide range of property litigation matters, offering strategic and commercially sound advice.
- Represent clients in courts and tribunals including the Court of Session, Sheriff Court, Lands Tribunal, and First-tier Tribunal (Housing and Property Chamber).
- Drive business development initiatives and strengthen client relationships.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Commercial Real Estate, Rural Land & Business, and Private Client departments.
- Commercial landlord and tenant disputes (rent recovery, irritancy, dilapidations, lease interpretation)
- Title rectification and boundary/access disputes
- Land Court and Lands Tribunal applications
- Housing disputes (private and social)
- Judicial reviews and professional negligence claims
- Alternative dispute resolution (arbitration and mediation)
- A qualified solicitor with significant experience in property litigation
- Strong commercial acumen and a results-driven mindset
- Proven ability to manage complex caseloads and mentor junior colleagues
