The Role

You'll provide expert legal support across all aspects of property law, with particular focus on utilities and statutory undertakers. Acting as a key advisor to internal stakeholders, you'll ensure property-related activities comply with legal and regulatory obligations while supporting the smooth delivery of critical infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advise on the acquisition and disposal of a diverse range of commercial, residential, and agricultural properties.
  • Draft and negotiate agreements, leases, easements, licences, and property-related documentation.
  • Support legal processes and negotiations involving utilities, telecoms, and other statutory undertakers.
  • Provide guidance on landlord and tenant matters and office portfolio management.
  • Assist with property-related commercial contracts and confidentiality agreements.
  • Oversee and manage external legal providers, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.
  • Contribute to template and process improvements for consistency and compliance.
About You
  • Qualified solicitor (England & Wales) with strong post-qualification experience in property law.
  • Solid background in acquisitions, disposals, easements, leases, and related property transactions.
  • Experience advising on utilities, infrastructure, or development projects.
  • Confident drafting and negotiating complex legal documentation.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities.
What's on Offer
  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
  • Hybrid working arrangements based in Birmingham.
  • Opportunity to work on nationally significant projects.
  • Supportive environment with scope to develop and take ownership of key workstreams.
