Job Description

The company is a leading and established manufacturer of plastic parts and components supplied to various industries such as automotive, aerospace, and construction.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the NPI lifecycle from initial design to customer approval, ensuring manufacturing processes are efficient and produce high quality end products.
  • liaise closely with the tooling department, clients and internal teams to meet project requirements.
  • Analyse Engineering and CAD drawings data to ensure manufacturing process is correct and efficient and accurate tool design.
  • Ensure tooling orders are compliant with project requirements.
  • Approval of tool designs, ensuring alignment with product specification and cost effectiveness.
  • Manage toolmakers to ensure adherence to quality and timeline expectations through the entire process.
  • Resolve any manufacturing issues with tooling team and suppliers.
  • Refine and amend any manufacturing process to optimise quality, cost and efficiency.
  • Plan and oversee tooling trials.
  • Prepare detailed documentation including work instructions, setup sheets and operating procedures.
  • Conduct and present dimensional reporting to customers, addressing any technical enquiries or concerns.
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing teams, troubleshoot any process related issues.
  • Assist in resolving production inefficiencies and defects to maintain product quality.
Experience and qualifications
  • Previous experience within a plastics thermoforming environment manufacturer within a process/project capacity.
  • Proven experience in tooling, process development and project engineering within the plastics manufacturing industry.
  • Knowledge of Solidworks software and able to interpret engineering drawings.
  • Experience of managing tooling teams.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills.
  • A qualification such as a degree or HND/HNC in an engineering field would be advantageous but not essential.
  • Proficient in data analysis and reporting tools for dimensional analysis and process validation.
  • Ability to build professional relationships at all levels both inside the business and with suppliers/customers.

The company are based in Droitwich so is commutable from Bromsgrove, Birmingham, Redditch, Kidderminster, Worcester, Dudley, West Bromwich.
