Job Description
The company is a leading and established manufacturer of plastic parts and components supplied to various industries such as automotive, aerospace, and construction.
Responsibilities- Manage the NPI lifecycle from initial design to customer approval, ensuring manufacturing processes are efficient and produce high quality end products.
- liaise closely with the tooling department, clients and internal teams to meet project requirements.
- Analyse Engineering and CAD drawings data to ensure manufacturing process is correct and efficient and accurate tool design.
- Ensure tooling orders are compliant with project requirements.
- Approval of tool designs, ensuring alignment with product specification and cost effectiveness.
- Manage toolmakers to ensure adherence to quality and timeline expectations through the entire process.
- Resolve any manufacturing issues with tooling team and suppliers.
- Refine and amend any manufacturing process to optimise quality, cost and efficiency.
- Plan and oversee tooling trials.
- Prepare detailed documentation including work instructions, setup sheets and operating procedures.
- Conduct and present dimensional reporting to customers, addressing any technical enquiries or concerns.
- Provide technical support to manufacturing teams, troubleshoot any process related issues.
- Assist in resolving production inefficiencies and defects to maintain product quality.
- Previous experience within a plastics thermoforming environment manufacturer within a process/project capacity.
- Proven experience in tooling, process development and project engineering within the plastics manufacturing industry.
- Knowledge of Solidworks software and able to interpret engineering drawings.
- Experience of managing tooling teams.
- Strong time management and organisational skills.
- A qualification such as a degree or HND/HNC in an engineering field would be advantageous but not essential.
- Proficient in data analysis and reporting tools for dimensional analysis and process validation.
- Ability to build professional relationships at all levels both inside the business and with suppliers/customers.
The company are based in Droitwich so is commutable from Bromsgrove, Birmingham, Redditch, Kidderminster, Worcester, Dudley, West Bromwich.
