Project Worker
We are seeking a compassionate and proactive Project Worker to support individuals with complex needs in supported housing and help them thrive independently.
Position: Project Worker
Salary: £27,054 - £29,357 per annum
Location: Southend-on-Sea
Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week (including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays on a rota basis)
Closing Date: 10th November

About the Role
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of people affected by homelessness and complex needs. As a Project Worker, you'll provide tailored support to residents in supported accommodation, helping them develop life skills, sustain tenancies, and access vital services.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing a caseload and delivering personalised support plans
- Supporting residents with mental health, physical health, and substance use issues
- Promoting independence through education, employment, and life skills development
- Conducting health & safety checks and ensuring safe living environments
- Advising on welfare, housing, and legal rights
- Encouraging engagement with addiction recovery services and healthcare providers
- Facilitating group activities and contributing to a positive community atmosphere
- Maintaining accurate case files and updating the internal database
- Liaising with partner agencies and attending joint meetings
- Supporting fundraising and communications efforts when required
- Ensuring compliance with GDPR, data protection, and confidentiality policies
About You

Essential skills and experience:
- Knowledge of homelessness and related challenges
- Experience in partnership working and stakeholder engagement
- Strong communication skills, including trauma-informed approaches
- Ability to build trust and rapport with service users
- Understanding of safeguarding and tenancy responsibilities
- Willingness to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends
- Personal attributes such as patience, politeness, and self-control
Desirable:
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Health & Social Care, Housing, or IAG
- Experience applying Health & Safety guidance
