Summary

Freedom Professional Services are currently recruiting a Project Planner to join our team, you will be home based, but you will be required to Travel as and when required.

To plan the allocated projects up to the standard required from contract conditions and both internal and client requirements. Plans will be implemented with the best-practice approach utilising Critical Path Analysis, Resource Planning, Cost Management and Progress/Productivity Monitoring and Control to produce workable realistic and efficient plans.

Some of the key deliverables in this role will include:

  • Participate within bid activities as requested by the senior management; to work in conjunction with the Business Development department and in line with Focus Win processes.
  • In conjunction with the Planning Manager / Senior Planner, work closely with relevant project personnel and our external customer in order to produce / agree a 'Contract Baseline' programme for each allocated project, that: aligns with the agreed formal contract, price and workscope.
  • Maintain and update contract baseline in line with agreed contract change (eg variations). Ensure that change impacts are effectively communicated to Operations and Commercial Teams.
  • Ensure that progress and productivity is effectively monitored against project plan, to produce and circulate clear reports to the appropriate stakeholders in a concise and timely manner (e.g. Resource Histograms, 'S' Curves, Earned Value Analysis).
  • Perform Time/Risk analysis against programmes at regular intervals with the Project Manager throughout the whole project lifecycle.

We are looking for a highly driven individual with a diverse skill set in technical, ethical, social, and management competencies. You should be a self-starter, motivated by challenges, and eager to grow professionally. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail are essential, as is the ability to thrive in a dynamic work environment.

Qualifications and experience:

  • Experience of projects on HV networks
  • Experience working within Rail / Nuclear/ Power / Water (where relevant for the role)
  • Completed craft apprenticeship, or equivalent / higher relevant qualification
  • Full UK Driving license - Desirable
  • Use of planning software (P6, Asta,).
  • Active experience of working with a wide range of planning techniques in serving both tendering and contract delivery.
  • Computer literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft packages, including Microsoft Project and P6.
