Project Manager x2

A well known university based in the North of England is recruiting for a Project Manager on a permanent basis to start ASAP, role is paying £44K - £50K p.a + generous pension scheme and good benefits.

The role will involve working across academic and professional services teams to review and improve existing processes, with an initial focus on academic workload allocation and portfolio/programme review.

The successful candidate will need to engage with a range of stakeholders, understand existing ways of working and develop practical, sustainable approaches that can be implemented effectively.

There is also a systems and data element to the role. The PM will work closely with technology and Business Intelligence teams to understand systems, data flows, reporting and integrations, and use available data to inform recommendations and decision-making. The role does not require someone to be highly technical, but they should be confident working with technology teams and able to translate technical considerations into practical implications for academic and business stakeholders.

The successful candidate will need to be highly proactive and autonomous, taking ownership of workstreams, driving activity forward and providing structure and momentum without requiring significant day-to-day direction.

Essential Skills -

• Strong Project Management experience, ideally within Higher Education or a similarly complex organisation.
• Good understanding of academic environments, programmes and portfolio management.
• Experience delivering business transformation, process improvement or organisational change.
• Experience of systems implementation and/or working alongside technology teams.
• Comfortable working with data and Business Intelligence to support decision-making.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, including engagement with senior leaders and academic stakeholders.
