What You'll be doing

As a key member of the Project Delivery function at Portsmouth Naval Base (PNB), the Project Manager (Systems) will lead the delivery of assigned projects within the Systems Programme. This high impact role requires a proven track record in managing Building Services projects across a diverse range of buildings and operational environments. You'll drive project outcomes that meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and performance, ensuring each initiative aligns with KBS Maritime's strategic goals.

Reporting directly to the KBS Systems Programme Manager, you'll oversee the full lifecycle of systems project delivery, from initial scope and planning through to completion and handover. Whether managing trade packages or main contractor led works, you'll ensure each project is delivered safely, on time, and within budget, supporting the continued success of the Project Execution team at Portsmouth Naval Base.

You'll Have

You need hands on Project Management experience delivering Building Services projects, ideally with end to end delivery of works valued under £4 million and spanning durations of 12 months or more. Your decision making will be confident, informed, and grounded in a clear understanding of project dynamics and stakeholder needs.

You will be a skilled communicator and influencer, able to establish effective communication channels, actively listen, provide and seek feedback, and present ideas with clarity and persuasion. Your organisational strengths will shine through in your ability to plan ahead, set clear objectives, monitor progress, allocate resources effectively, and drive continuous improvement.

With strong presentation skills, you'll convey complex concepts and project narratives in visually engaging formats tailored to your audience. You'll embody and promote the company's values in everything you do, demonstrating a firm grasp of schedule, risk, and cost management principles, ensuring projects are delivered with precision, accountability, and impact.

About you

Ideally, you hold a professional qualification in Engineering, Construction, or Project Management - qualifications such as APM PMQ are particularly advantageous.

Additional certifications, including CITB SMSTS, IOSH or NEBOSH for managers, and academic credentials such as ONC/OND or a degree in Project Management, Building, Engineering, or Architecture further strengthen your profile. KBS Maritime is committed to professional development and offers a generous training budget to support the right candidate in achieving these qualifications.

You'll bring practical experience working in environments involving electricity or other high risk disciplines, with a strong preference for candidates who have operated within MoD or wider public sector settings. Your background includes managing multi discipline projects and you possess a working knowledge of Building Regulations, British Standards, and other relevant technical guidance. Familiarity with the engineering and construction aspects of project delivery and experience working with NEC or similar forms of contract is highly beneficial.

You'll get
  • A competitive salary
  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
  • Enhanced pension scheme
  • Life assurance
  • Access to our internal benefits and discounts programme for all colleagues
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Group income protection
