We are AMS. We are a global total workforce solutions firm; we enable organisations to thrive in an age of constant change by building, re-shaping, and optimising workforces. Our Contingent Workforce Solutions (CWS) is one of our service offerings; we act as an extension of our clients' recruitment team and provide professional interim and temporary resources. We are currently working with our client, Royal London. On behalf of Royal London we are searching for a Project Manager in Security and Technology Change for an initial 6 Month contract with offices based in both Edinburgh and Manchester on a Hybrid working model.
Royal London is a financial services company with a difference. As the UK's largest mutual life, pensions and investment company, we're owned by our members and work for their benefit, not for shareholder profits. We've grown rapidly and have been recognised as one of the UK's top rated places to work. Today, Royal London has over £114 billion of funds under management, and around 3,500 employees working in six offices across the UK and Ireland. We've worked hard to become experts in our specialist markets, building a trusted brand - and our teams have plenty of awards to show for it. Whatever team you're interested in joining and whatever role you play, we'll help you to make a difference.
Purpose of the Role
Royal London is seeking a highly capable and proactive Project Manager to lead and deliver complex technology and security change initiatives. This is a critical role in ensuring the success of change programmes that affect key systems, behaviours, and ways of working across the organisation. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, regulated Financial Services environment and demonstrate outstanding stakeholder management and communication skills to influence at all levels.
Responsibilities of the Role:
- Owning and delivering complex change initiatives with a strong focus on technology and security transformation, ensuring alignment with Royal London's strategic goals.
- Leading cross-functional teams and collaborating with technical and business stakeholders to simplify and influence decisions around secure technology adoption.
- Applying strong planning and control using Managing Successful Programmes (MSP) methodology to ensure delivery meets time, cost, and quality expectations. Championing behavioural change and foster a "can-do" attitude across teams and departments to embed secure, scalable technology solutions.
- Proactively manage risks, issues, dependencies, and communications to ensure change progresses at the right pace, without compromising on business priorities or regulatory standards.
- Driving security change across teams, ensuring stakeholder understanding and buy-in, while translating complex technical or compliance needs into business-friendly language.
- Ensuring delivery is technology-focused; this is not an infrastructure PM role, a clear understanding of how technology change impacts users, services, and governance is essential.
What we require from the Candidate:
- Proven track record as a Project Manager within Financial Services, with a focus on technology, security, and/or digital change.
- Strong understanding and practical application of MSP (Managing Successful Programmes) for complex multi-stream project environments.
- Exceptional communication, influencing, and stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to simplify technical topics for non-technical audiences. Experience delivering change in regulated environments, especially in relation to security and compliance frameworks. Energetic and resilient, with a "can-do" mindset, able to motivate teams and navigate organisational challenges to drive delivery forward.
- Experience working closely with technology teams, security architects, and product owners-able to understand the broader impact of change across the business.
