About the Role Ko te mahi neiWe are looking for a Project Manager to join our Wastewater Capital Delivery Team within the Three Waters Unit. You'll be part of a team responsible for delivering an extensive capital works programme at the Christchurch Wastewater Treatment Plant (CWTP) in Bromley.
As a Project Manager, you'll be accountable for all key phases of the project lifecycle - from initiation, design, procurement and construction through to commissioning and handover. You will drive the successful delivery of assigned projects through effective management of scope, time, cost, and quality.
We are seeking someone with the necessary knowledge, experience, and proven track record in delivering a range of projects within wastewater treatment or other large processing plants.
You will also bring:
- A relevant university degree and a minimum of 5 years' project management experience in one or more of the following areas: engineering/construction, electrical/automation, process engineering, biogas, or gas processing/reticulation.
- Significant experience and competent working knowledge of construction-related contracts, particularly NZS 3910 and NZS 3916.
- Knowledge and experience in applying project management methodologies (PMBOK preferred).
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
You'll be confident, proactive, and solutions-focused, with a positive, "can-do" attitude. You enjoy working on dynamic, challenging projects with fixed deadlines and clear deliverables.

- Hours of work: 37.5-40 hours per week
- Position: Permanent, full-time
- Salary: This will be discussed with the successful applicant
- Location: This position will be primarily based at Christchurch Wastewater Treatment Plant in Bromley; however, there may be times when you will work from the Council's main office, Te Hononga, 53 Hereford Street, or other Council locations, depending on project needs
