An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Engineer to join a growing and innovative engineering business specialising in the design and manufacture of generators and boiler systems. This is a client-facing role offering the chance to take ownership of projects from concept through to commissioning, working across multidisciplinary teams to deliver complex steam raising and process plant installations. The successful candidate will bring hands on experience of boilers, steam turbines or pressure systems and be confident managing technical delivery, contractors and stakeholder relationships throughout the full project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities- Act as the primary engineering contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle
- Provide technical expertise in evaluating project requirements and design specifications
- Develop and manage detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones and resource allocation
- Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams of engineers, technicians and specialist subcontractors
- Specify, procure and integrate equipment packages into full steam cycle power generation plants
- Prepare and review equipment datasheets in collaboration with process engineers
- Manage subcontract specialist engineering services (e.g. structural calculations, noise studies, flow modelling)
- Estimate project costs, prepare budgets and monitor expenditure
- Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies
- Review RAMS, coordinate site inductions, permits, access equipment and contractor mobilisation
- Ensure compliance with relevant codes, regulations and industry best practice
- Maintain accurate project documentation and progress reporting
- Promote and uphold high health & safety standards on site
Experience managing installation of boilers, steam turbines, process piping, water treatment or heat exchangers
Experience preparing equipment datasheets and procuring balance of plant equipment (pumps, valves, pressure vessels)
Experience managing third party contractors on live construction sites
Strong understanding of engineering principles and technical problem solving
Working knowledge of plant Electrical & Instrumentation systems
Excellent organisational, communication and client facing skills
Ability to work to deadlines in fast paced project environments
Experience within Waste to Energy or Offshore Oil & Gas environments advantageous
