The Project Engineer is responsible for Mechanical Detail Engineering of Food & Beverage filtration systems. You will Plan, develop, and follow the processes (internal/external) necessary to design, and deliver engineering technical documentation Filtration systems, as per technical requirements, within budget and with the specified quality with our partners (suppliers). The majors KPI's will be Right First Time, On time and process compliance.

This position is part of the Food & Beverage-Engineering dept and will be located Onsite in Bad Kreuznach, Germany to support Food & Beverage Global Project Engineering team.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Take ownership for Engineering activities for the projects. Consult the Sales, Application and Execution organization on critical contract execution requirements. Mitigate Risk and resolve critical discussions with internal and external stakeholders.

  • To do equipment and piping sizing, prepare P&ID, technical datasheets of Pumps, Vessel, Tanks, Valves, Instruments, Heat exchangers, 3D piping review.

  • To manage Engineering changes that may come up during the course of the project including all related information and communication / agreements w/r to cost/time impacts.

  • Detailed understanding of Hygienic international codes and standards like EHEDG, ASME BPE, AWS D18.1, D18.2, D18.3, filtration separation and purification technologies used in the processing (Direct flow filtration, cross flow filtration, stabilization) food and beverage process equipment.

  • To do Technical Bid Evaluation of equipment supplier documentation.

  • As a technical expert/coach, the Mechanical Project Engineer shall act as a point of contact within the team to develop the organization by coaching both internal and external partners on their daily work and critical technical issues that require specific knowledge and experience in the field.


The essential requirements of the job include:

  • B.E/B.Tech/ (Mechanical/Chemical/Food Technology). M.Tech would be added advantage.

  • Candidate with overall experience > 10 yrs

  • Minimum 5-6 years of experience of detail engineering of equipment used in Food and beverage, Chemical, Biopharma, Project industry

  • Be prepared to travel domestically or abroad, etc.

  • Fluency in both German and English communication skills required.

  • Use of MS Office tools, SAP MM&PP, CAD Viewer.

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:

  • This role involves approximately 20% travel, both nationally and internationally.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Experience in qualification activities (FAT/SAT) for process equipment in the food and beverage or equivalent industry.

  • Experience of working with 3D CAD Systems (Autodesk Inventor; Navisworks).
