"This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the development and delivery of Decommissioning, Waste Retrieval and Conditioning Programmes at Sizewell A, delivering the site into a safe and secure end state.

We are looking for Project Engineers (Mech/Elec/C&I/Process) to lead in the development of robust technical solutions, from concept, though the commissioning phases into routine operations and beyond."

Key Deliverables

  • Provide suitable engineering solutions for complex projects.

  • Identify project functional requirements and stakeholder needs for assigned projects.

  • Contribute to project documentation including design, safety case and commissioning strategies.

  • Develop concept designs and fit for purpose engineering solutions for projects.

  • Produce and/or approve project technical specifications.

  • Manage detailed design activities in accordance with design authority standards.

  • Carry out technical assessment/approval of contractors work instruction/method statements/risk assessments.

  • Provide technical supervision of construction/deconstruction activities to ensure compliance with design intent.

  • Specify and provide technical supervision of commissioning and/or decommissioning.

  • Manage handover to systems/operations ensuring that all drawings, instructions and training have been supplied as required.

Qualifications

  • Appropriate HNC, (NQF Level 5); preferably degree level (NQF Level 6) or working towards (Essential).

  • Significant experience in practising disciplined Engineering role on industrial plant (Essential).

  • Experience of fulfilling the CDM Designer role (Essential).

  • Knowledge/Experience in commissioning of industrial plant (Desirable).

  • Knowledge/Experience in Contract Management (Desirable).

Experience and knowledge

  • The candidate must be a proactive individual with a proven record of delivering in a project team.

  • Travel to other locations will be necessary depending on project demands.

SQEP for Role

  • Successful candidates will be required to hold Authorisations commensurate with the role.

  • Candidates aspiring to this broad role with a suitable PDP will also be considered.
