AtkinsRealis has one of the UK Rail industry's largest signalling engineering teams. Joining this team means becoming part of a Practice comprising approximately 200 professional signalling and telecommunications design personnel, project engineers, and engineering managers. Your Purpose:

This role is that of an Assistant Signalling Project Engineer / Signalling Project Engineer, reporting to an Engineering Manager.

Primary functions include:
  1. Supporting the engineering lead for projects and leading engineering for small packages of work.
  2. Preparing for and supporting/interdisciplinary design reviews.
  3. Preparing Engineering Management Plans, contributing to risk assessments, and writing technical reports.
  4. Producing and managing materials lists.
  5. Liaising with client engineers.
  6. Resolving engineering issues on-site and with design teams. Assisting in the preparation of estimates and tender documentation.
  7. Creating and managing trackers/registers for engineering deliverables. Producing/collating O&M manuals and H&S Files.
  8. Supporting design, testing, construction, and project management as required, including opportunities to undertake Assistant Testing duties during commissioning periods.
What you can bring: Essential Qualifications and Experience:
  1. HNC / HND / Degree or other technical qualification, preferably in electrical or electronic engineering.
  2. Holds an IRSE Licence(s).
  3. Experience of working on-site.
  4. Knowledge of level crossings.
  5. Undertaken a railway signalling training scheme (e.g., Apprenticeship / graduate programme).
  6. Good written and verbal communication skills.
  7. Positive attitude and flexibility.
  8. Ability to work within a team and be self-motivated.
  9. Fit and able to work trackside / hold PTS certification.
  10. Ability to manage time efficiently and prioritize duties.

Security clearance:

This role may require security clearance. Offers of employment will depend on obtaining the relevant clearance level, which will be discussed during the interview.
